Honda and Lada cars will run without any compensation weight for the FIA World Touring Car Championship Race of Japan.

The cars of these two manufacturers will not carry any additional weight at the Motegi circuit in September due to article 77 of the WTCC Sporting regulations. Honda has 0.9 seconds lap time difference as per results of the last three events in Slovakia, France and Portugal, while Lada’s difference is 1.3 seconds in regards to Citroen.

Meanwhile, Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1 will carry 10 kilograms as it’s lap time difference is 0.8 seconds, while Citroen C-Elysee will continue to run with full 60 kilograms of success ballast due to it’s magnificent performances in this season.

The compensation weight system was introduced to equalise performance between the various cars racing in the WTCC.
