WTCC: Dates confirmed for the season finale in Qatar

The FIA World Touring Cars Championship season finale in Qatar is officialy moved to 26th and 27th of November.

 

As we reported earlier, date change of the WTCC finale caused some problems for FIA, but World’s racing governing body was finally given the green light for new dates. Races will be held on Friday night at Losail International Circuit which was chosen to replace Macau for the season finale.

 

“The addition of Qatar to the WTCC Calendar ensures a true world championship with representatives from all over the world in the field of motorsports. I would like to emphasise the importance of working with an international team of competitors, officials and participants,” said WTCC director Francois Ribeiro.

 

The organizers are also optimistic before the Qatar’s debut in the world of WTCC.

 

“I promise my full support and my team will work closely with the WTCC to ensure excellent racing experience as this will be their first ever night race,“ said Nasser Khalifa Al-Atya, prsident of Qatar Motorsport Federation.
