24 Hours of Le Mans official announcement - 2015
On the 5th of February 2015, the organisers of the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans race held a press conference announcing all relevant information regarding the 83rd 24 Hours of Le Mans event and releasing the official trailer and the poster for the famous race. There are some changes in rules for 2015 and top category is no longer divided into two classes as was the case in 2014 with LM P1-L and LM P1-H. There is now just a single class: LM P1 (Le Mans Prototype 1). There will be 14 cars from 6 manufacturers in that class. The main battle will be fought between Audi,Porsche,Toyota and Nissan which are hybrid cars but there will be also a enterance from CLM P1/01 and Rebellion R-ONE which are gasoline powered vehicles. The largest class of 83rd 24 Hours of Le Mans is LM P2 with 20 cars from various manufacturers. Often, there is more track battles in this class then there are in others. In LM GTE Pro class there only going to be 9 cars on the grid and the Ferrari and the Corvette are the favorites. However, with Porsche and Aston Martin strong and fast it is hard to tell who is the winner. At the end, we have a LM GTE Am class with 13 entrants and there is a 7 reserved places on the grid for various teams.

The biggest news is, of course, Nissan GTR-LM Nismo and three car team which will start among the Audis,Toyotas and Porsches. The specification, concept and technology are fantastic but we will se what effect will it have on the track. The rest of the cars are more or less the same as in 2014, however upgraded and improved since the last season. Since the Detroit Auto Show, earlier this year, there was rumors of Ford entering a LM GTE Pro class with its new Ford GT sports car. Ford did confirm that they will race at TUDOR United SportsCar series this season and come to Le Mans and World Endurance Championship next year, but the rumors say it is going to be in 2015 to surprise the competition and recreate history with Fords fighting Porsche and Ferrari once again at the Le Mans circuit.

However, this 24 Hours of Le Mans will be one of the most interesting events in 2015 and one of most interesting Le Mans in a long time since the comeptition is stronger than ever, Audi’s dominance is questionable since the Porsche, Toyota and Nissan are extremely eager to win and the rest of the grid is packet with fast machines and experienced drivers. So be sure to have your weekend free on 13th and 14th of June this year and follow the greatest race in history of motorsport.
