Porsche has announced signing of French driver Kevin Estre as factory driver for their GT programme.

The 27-year-old Estre was McLaren driver since 2014, but has experience with Porsche as he won titles in the national Carrera Cup championship in France (2011) and Germany (2013), and also scored wins in Porsche Supercup races.

As a driver of Von Ryan Racing team, Kevin Estre was very successful behind a wheel of McLaren in Blancpain Endurance Championship 2015 in which he scored two wins, while driving Porsche Team Manthey’s 911 RSR he was third in the World Endurance Championship race at Spa-Francorchamps.

Estre also participated in 24 Hours of Le Mans, driving OAK Racing’s Ligier JS P2-Honda, but was forced to retire in lap 329 due to problems with gearbox.
