2015 Food City 500 First Practice

The practice which started at around noon local time saw Jeff Gordon taking the early lead clocking 124.04 MPH, but at around ten minutes into the practice, he was pushed down, with top five being Josh Wise, Kurt Busch, Kevin Harvick, Austin Dillon and Joey Logano. Surprisingly, Matt Di Benedetto climbed onto the second.

With 30 minutes to go, Jamie McMurray went to get the third, while Wise and Busch held onto their first and second. Soon after, Kyle Larson climbed onto the first by lapping Bristol Motor Speedway with 15.105s, and he was very closely followed by Matt Kenseth who did 15.112s. With around 18 minutes to go, Jeff Gordon did 15.089, but Earnhardt Jr. overtook him minutes after with 14.972. By the same time, David Ragan went to second and Allgaier earned the third. However, Keselowski did a run which got him to second, but he almost lost control of his car.

In the last seven minutes, Kasey Kahne took the first place with 14.971s. With just 0.001s behind was Dale Jr. who was followed by Keselowski, Edwards and Ragan.
