Audi Sport TT Cup: Marschall's double at Hungaroring

  • Audi TT cup #27, Dennis Marschall, Hungaroring

Dennis Marschall marks the Audi Sport TT Cup’s premier at Hungaroring by winning both races at the Hungarian Grand Prix circuit. Same as in the Saturday’s race, Marschall recorded one more lights-to-flag victory on Sunday. With two Hungarian wins Marschall reduced his deficit to the series leader Joonas Lappalainen to nine points. Lappalainen finished second in today’s race, same as the day before. The South African Sheldon van der Linde completed the podium in Sunday’s race.

In the guest entrants’ classification, the Dutchman Milan Dontje dominated the action by winning both races. Other guests were Gabor Telek, Jorg Petersen and the the Superbike World Championship drivers Chaz Davies and Xavi Fores.

With one more race to go, in October at Hockenheimring, Lappalainen had 239 points. He is trailed by Marschall (230). Sheldon van der Linde (197) and Nicklas Nielsen (196) also have mathematical chances for the overall title, but it would be more interesting their batttle for the Rookie of the Year honors.
