HTP Motorsport’s Dominik Baumann and Maximilian Buhk won the main race of the Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup at Hungaroring. The duo in the #84 Mercedes-AMG GT3 crossed the finisl line with 5.44sec gap ahead of #1 Team WRT Audi R8 LMS, driven by Laurens Vanthoor and Frederic Vervisch. Another Team WRT car, the #33 Audi, finished third, with Christopher Mies and Enzo Ide as drivers.

After the race, Vanthoor/Vervisch was penalized because of unsafe release. They received a drive-through penalty, converted to a 30-second penalty, so they dropped to eighth place. It promoted Rene Rast and Will Stevens to the final podium spot.
