  • Louis Deletraz, Formula V8 3.5, Barcelona

Egor Orudzhev (Arden Motorsport) scores his fifth win of the season in the Formula V8 3.5 race today at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. Despite this victory, he lost a chance to fight for the title in tomorrow’s last race of the season. The onlytwo drivers who can take the title are Louis Deletraz and Tom Dillman.

Before the race started, the engine on the car of the third-placed qualifier Jack Aitken stalled on the grid. One more formation lap followed and Aitken was pushed to start from the pits. That opened the door for Egor Orudzhev, who was in the fifth starting position. Orudzhev started faster than everybody and jumped from fifth to the lead. He remained in front for 25 laps and crossed the finish line 9.891 seconds ahead of Deletraz.

At the start, the pole-sitter Tom Dillmann dropped to second, with Matthieu Vaxiviere and Louis Deletraz following him. Deletraz overtook Vaxiviere on Lap 3 and then he was chasing Dillman for fifteen laps. Finally, on Lap 18, Deletraz attacked and forced Dillmann to miss the breaking point. The Swiss driver progressed to P2 and incresed his championship lead to six points ahead of Dillmann.
