Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup: Mathieu Jaminet scored his maiden win at Spa

Mathieu Jaminet (Martinet by Almeras) scores victory in the seventh round of the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup today at Spa-Francorchamps. For the French Porsche junior, who was the runner-up in the last year’s Porsche Carrera Cup France, it was the maiden victory in the world’s premium Porsche competition.

The 21-year-old Frenchman started third on the grid, behind Matteo Cairoli (Fach Auto Tech) and the series leader Sven Müller (Lechner MSG Racing Team). After a thrilling race, Jaminet succeeds to beat his Italian and German rivals. Müller was second, 1.118sec behind Jaminet. Cairoli crossed the finish line 2.560sec after Jaminet.

Christian Engelhart finished fourth, ahead of Michael Ammermuller and Robert Lukas. Other points scorers are Klaus Bachler, Larry ten Voorde, Charlie Frijns and Zaid Ashkanani. The wide grid of 29 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars competed at Spa-Francorchamps, 26 of them finished the race. The next round is scheduled for the next weekend at Monza.
