Lando Norris captures his second win of the season today at Monza, in the opening race of the second round of the 2017 FIA Formula 3 European Championship. The 17-year-old Briton leads the 1-2-3 triumph for Carlin team, as his teammates Jehan Daruvala and Ferdinand Habsburg took other two podium places.

Norris started second on the grid, next to the pole-sitter Daruvala. The Indian driver remained in the lead at the start whilst Norris lost few places, dropping to P4. Norris fought back to P2 and then started to chase his teammate. Finally, on lap 16, Norris came outside of a slipstream and made a move. At the end of the race, after 20 laps, he crossed the finish line with 0.649 sec advantage.

We saw lots of excitement in Monza’s race, with many position changes but without serious accidents, which is unusual for F3 youngsters. Championship leader Joel Eriksson (Motopark) finished fourth, remaining in the points lead after four races, together with race winner Norris.

Three Prema Powerteam drivers Guanyu Zhou, Mick Schumacher and Maximilian Gunther take positions from P5 to P7. Ralf Aron (Hitech), Callum Ilott (Prema) and Jake Hughes (Hitech) completed the top 10.
