TCR Series: Comini wins thrilling race 2 at Monza
The Comtoyou Racing driver Stefano Comini is the winner of the TCR International Series’ thrilling race 2 at Monza circuit.
The two Lukoil Craft-Bamboo’s SEAT Leon drivers Hugo Valente and James Nash started from the front row in the race 2 but Stefano Comini was the one who started best and took the lead while the championship leader Jean-Karl Vernay moved up to the 3rd, profiting from the contact with Valente at the start.
Roberto Colciago, the winner of the race 1, did a great job and soon he was just behind the top 3 and on lap 6 he finally overtook Vernay to take P3. The Italian looked unstoppable at the moment and with three laps to go he was chasing Comini. However, the Swiss in Audi was able to resist all attacks and to score the second win of the season.
Colciago must be very happy after another podium finish at Monza, just as Frederic Vervisch who finished 3rd and scored his maiden podium in the TCR International Series.
The next round of TCR International Series will go on June 10-11 at Red Bull Ring.
