2018 ADAC GT Masters title for Mathieu Jaminet and Robert Renauer

  • Mathieu Jaminet Robert Renauer

Robert Renauer and Mathieu Jaminet (Precote Herberth Motosport) are the 2018 ADAC GT Masters champions. A duo in the #99 Porsche 911 GT3 R won the championship title with one-point advantage over closest rivals Sheldon and Kelvin Van der Linde (Montaplast by Land Motorsport).

In the season’s finale at Hockenheimring, Renauer/Jaminet finished second in Saturday’s race and fifth in Sunday’s race, collecting enough points for the final celebration. Their rivals and championship contenders won both races – Callaway Competition’s Marvin Kirchhofer and Daniel Keilwitz on Saturday and Van der Linde brothers on Sunday.

The fourth crew that had a chance to take the title, Maxi Gotz and Markus Pommer in HTP Motorsport’s Mercedes, dropped out from Sunday’s raceafter an opening lap accident in which pole-sitter Gotz was hit by Dries Vanthoor in an Audi.
