Super GT Series: Double triumph for Lexus at Autopolis

The defending Super GT Series champions Ryo Hirakawa and Nick Cassidy won the race at Autopolis in the #1 KeePer Tom’s Lexus LC500. It was the seventh and the penultimate race of the season. Hirakawa and Cassidy are going to season0’s finale at Twin Ring Motegi (November 10-11) tied in points with Jenson Button and Naoki Yamamoto, who finished fifth today in the #100 Honda NSX.

Hirakawa/Cassidy shared a podium at Autopolis with two more Lexus crews. Yuhi Sekiguchi and Kazuki Nakajima finished second in the #36 car, ahead of Yuji Kunimoto and Kenta Yamashita in the #19 car. Lexus was also in the fourth place, with Hiroaki Ishiura and Yuji Tachikawa in the #38 car.

Yuichi Nakayama and Morio Nitta are the winners in the GT300 category in the #96 Lexus RC F GT3, making it the double triumph for Lexus at Autopolis. Yuya Motoyima and Kimiya Sato finished second in the #87 Lamborghini Huracan GT3, in front of Ryo Michigami and Hiroki Otsu in the #34 Honda NSX GT3.
