DTM: Perfect day for Timo Glock at Oschersleben
Pole position, fastest lap and victory in DTM race 1 at Oschersleben made a perfect day for BMW driver Timo Glock.
This was a really excellent day for Glock who was on the top throughout all 28 laps of race 1. He finished first 1.876s ahead of another BMW driver Bruno Spengler, while Felix Da Costa was 7.881s behind to complete the Bavarian podium.
Start of the race wasn’t so nice as a collision in the middle of the grid caused Jamie Green, who had to retire a couple of laps later, and Nico Muller spin. The safety car was deployed and stayed on the track for four laps. After the restart, Spengler overtook Da Costa and top three standings remained unchanged until the end.
Pascal Wehrlein on fifth was best placed Mercedes driver, what was enough for him to take the lead in the championship classification, but for Audi this race was completely disappointing as Miguel Molina was ther best performer at Oschersleben finishing ninth, while Mattias Ekstrom was 14th.
