Pascal Wehrlein was the winner of 11th race of DTM championship. Mercedes driver won the Saturday race in Moscow to take the lead in the championship overall standings from Mattias Ekstrom who failed to finish the race which was interrupted twice.

For the first time this season, reigning champion Marco Wittmann had pole position and managed to keep it after the start ahead of Pascal Wehrlein and Jamie Green, but the race was stopped after a huge crash at turn 1 in which Christian Vietoris and Miguel Molina were involved. Safety car was deployed and after the restart drivers had less than 30 minutes for proper racing.
