EuroFormula Open: Championship title for Vitor Baptista
Brasilian Vitor Baptista is the 2015 Euroformula Open champion. The 17 years old driver of RP Motorsport clinched the title ahead of Konstantin Tereschenko (Campos Racing), who scored victories in both races of EF Open finale at Barcelona. Russian driver was in attack mode at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, scored both poles and converted it into wins, but Baptista secured enough points for the title with 3rd in Race 1 and 5th in Race 2.

In Saturday’s race Tereschenko claimed his fifth win of the season, ahead of Yu Kanamaru (Emilio de Villota Motorsport) and championship leader Baptista. After securing the pole position, Tereschenko was dominant during the race and secured lights-to-flag victory. DTM driver Daniel Juncadella came fourth on his debut in the series. 19 drivers participated in Race 1, all with Dallara F312 (Toyota) singleseaters.

In Sunday’s race Tereschenko repeated the domination and scored his sixth victory. Vitor Baptista also had six victories, but this time it was enough to cross the finish line 5th overall and remain in the championship lead with five points more than Tereschenko. Other podium scorers in Race 2 were Diego Menchaca and Dani Juncadella.
