F3 Euro: Rosenqvist's seventh victory, Giovinazzi still the leader

Felix Rosenqvist (Prema Powerteam) wins second race of FIA Formula 3 European Championship at Red Bull Ring. After second place in first race earlier in the morning this time Rosenqvist defended his pole-position and achieved seventh victory in 2015 season.

In overall championship standings Rosenqvist jumped to second place over Charles Leclerc (Van Amersfoort Racing), who finished fourth in Race 2. Championship leader is still Antonio Giovinazzi (Jagonya Ayam with Carlin), who chased Rosenqvist all the way and after 24 laps finished second in Race 2. Third driver on the podium was Lance Stroll (Prema Powerteam).

Starting and finishing order of the first three drivers are the same, but behind them there were lots of changes. Sergio Sette Camara (Motorpark), who started fourth, dropped to sixth and after that was penalized because of jump start so he felt to the end of the field and finished 19th. Charles Leclerc started sixth and jumped to fourth at the start. Behind him was Alexander Albon (Signature), who started eight. Markus Pommer (Motopark) started fifth, dropped to 8th and in the last lap he overtook George Russell (Carlin) for sixth.

Winner of the first race Jake Dennis (Prema Powerteam) started 10th and finished 8th in Race 2, in front of Mikkel Jensen (kfzteile24 Mücke Motorsport) and Gustavo Menezes (Jagonya Ayam with Carlin). The second race was, same as the first race earlier today, without major incidents. There was one short Safety Car interruption in lap 19 after Ryan Tveter (Jagonya Ayam with Carlin) went off road and stuck on the gravel near the track.

After 23 races in 2015 season Giovinazzi is still leading ahead Rosenqvist, but now is difference just 17 points. Leclerc is 20.5 points after so he still in the championship fight. Ten more races will be held, one more at Red Bull Ring tommorow at 11.45. Giovinazzi will start from pole, sharing front with Rosenqvist. Camara and Pommer will start from second row.
