Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup: Deletraz gets his revenge at Hungaroring

After he lost his victory because of a penalty following a jump start at Saturday’s race at Hungaroring, Louis Deletraz (Josef Kaufmann Racing) bounced back with his third win of the season in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup.

The Swiss driver crossed the finish line ahead of Kevin Jörg, making it a Josef Kaufmann Racing one-two finish. Behind them it was the Koiranen GP duo of Jake Hughes and Jack Aitken. At fifth place was rookie Harrison Scott (AV Formula).

Louis Deletraz started from pole and managed to hold on to the lead at the first corner. Lap one claimed two victims: Ignazio D’Agosto (Manor MP Motorsport), with a spin and Callan O’Keeffe (Fortec Motorsports), who returned to his garage and retired.

While the leading positions went unchanged there were several battles for the other spots. At the end of the race, the sixth place was taken by  Anthoine Hubert (Tech 1 Racing) who raced ahead of  Thiago Vivacqua (JD Motorsport) and Ben Barnicoat (Fortec), while Darius Oskoui (ART Junior Team) and Matevos Isaakyan (JD Motorsport) were the final point scorers.

The winner increased his lead in the general classification and now has a 34 point advantage ahead of Hughes. In the third spot is Hubert while Jorg is at fourth place.
