The most notable change for the next GP3 season is the decision to allow teams to run up to four cars in each race.

After only seven teams were confirmed for 2016, the organizers positively responded to the team’s request to increase the number of entries. This change means a maximum of 28 cars could be on the track in each race.

The teams confirmed for the 2016 GP3 season are Arden International, ART Grand Prix, DAMS, Campos Racing, Koiranen GP, Trident and Jenzer Motorsport and they will get the new GP3/16 car early next year.

“I am pleased to announce that our GP3 teams will be allowed to line up a fourth car. We discussed this a lot and I feel this will give them an even stronger financial base for the season to come,” commented Bruno Michel, CEO of the GP3 Series.
