King rules the GP2 sprint race at Silverstone

  • Jordan King

Jordan King scored his second victory in 2016 GP2 Series. He led through the whole sprint race at Silverstone, beating Luca Ghiotto by only 0.5s.

The Racing Engineering driver started from pole while his teammate Norman Nato accompanied him in front row. King started well and kept the lead while ART Grand Prix’s Nobuharu Matsushita moved up to second and was very close to the leader.

Back in the grid Prema Racing’s Luca Ghiotto did a great job and in lap 11 he was battling with Matsushita. In the following lap the Italian moved up to second position but that was the all he could do. King defended well and secured second triumph in 2016, Ghiotto finished as a runner-up what is his best result so far while Oliver Rowland (MP Motorsport) completed the podium after overtaking Matsushita on the penultimate lap.
