Porsche Supercup Monza – qualifying

Today at noon, after an interesting practice session at the Monza track where the best time was achieved by Porsche Junior Sven Muller, the track has been reserved for the qualifying session and all of the 39 drivers on the grid.

Yesterday’s training results revealed that local drivers like Matteo Cairoli are very fast (he scored second time) and since there is the Porsche Carrera Cup Italy, there are a lot of Italian drivers who are enlisted for the Supercup Monza weekend, so interesting racing can be expected for sure.

The qualifying session started today at noon and the fastest time of 1:51.416 mins was achieved by Michael Ammermuller in interesting turn. His driving proved to be the best amongst the 39 drivers on the grid but he was chased very closely by Matteo Cairoli in the second spot and Sven Muller on the third slot. Austrian Ace and leader of the championship Phillip Eng, was fourth and French driver Come Ledogar is fifth.

The pole position is in the hands of Ammermuller who is a very good and capable driver but just behind him is Cairoli with the home turf advantage. There is also Muller who has an ambition of repeating last year’s success. Of course, we can’t forget Eng who wants to secure his championship lead.
