  • Formula V8 3.5 Monza, Egor Orudzhev

Egor Orudzhev (Arden Motorsport) wins the second race of the Formula V8 3.5 Series at Autodromo Nazionale Monza, in the seventh round of the 2016 season. Rene Binder (Lotus) and Louis Deletraz (Fortec Motorsports) completed the podium. Tom Dillmann (AV Formula), who finished eighth, remains in the championship lead after 14 races, with four more races in the calendar (Jerez and Barcelona).

The winner of Saturday’s race Roy Nissany again was the fastest qualifier but his chances for another victory was ruined before the race, when his car stalled at the start of the formation lap. Nissany started from pits and finished sixth. The Safety car was deloyed immediately after the start, because Aurelien Panis’ damaged car stopped at the start-finish line, after a collision with two rivals. He was squeezed between Celis and Baptista.

Egor Orudzhev, who jumped in the lead from fifth starting position, remained in front after the restart. After 22 laps, he crossed the finish line 0.965 seconds ahead of Binder. It’s Orudzhev’s third win of the season. Louis Deletraz grabbed his second podium of the weekend and gets closer to the championship leader.

Dillmann has 193 points, eleven more than Deletraz. Third-placed Roy Nissany has 165 points, six more than Aurelien Panis.
