  • Aurelien Panis, Red Bull Ring

Aurelien Panis (Arden Motorsport) takes his second victory in the 2016 Formula V8 3.5 Series season today at Red Bull Ring, after starting fourth on the grid and progressing through the pit stops. Championship leader Tom Dillman (AVF) finished second for the fifth time this season, increasing the lead over Louis Deletraz (Fortec Motorsport), who finished fourth today.

The Russian driver Matevos Isaaakyan started from pole for the first time and he was leading until the tyre change, when he dropped to third. He defends third place, which was his maiden podium. Another Russian, Egor Orudzhev, finished fifth, ahead of winner of the Saturday’s race Matthieu Vaxiviere. Alfonso Celis Jr., Vitor Baptista, Beitske Visser and guest driver Marco Bonanomi completed the Top 10.

Plenty of racing will follow in October and November, with three more rounds in the calendar (Monza, Jerez and Barcelona). Dillmann is a leader with 189 points, forty more than Deletraz. Today’s win promoted Panis to the third place, with just two points less than Deletraz.
