Porsche Supercup - Hungaroring: Sven Müller takes the series lead
Sven Müller clinches his third Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup victory of the season today at Hungaroring and takes the series lead after five rounds. Müller started from the front row, next to the pole-sitter Robert Lukas, but the 24-year-old German driver had a better start than 28-year-old Polish driver and he took the lead. After 14 laps, Müller crossed the finish line with 3.045sec advantage over Lukas. Michael Ammermüller started third and finished third.
The race was interrupted immediately after the start, because of massive crash in Turn 1. The five cars were involved, all five were out of the race. The victims of the crash were Paul Rees, Lucas Sundahl, Chris Bauer, Mathieu Jaminet and Roland Berville.
After the restart, there were no changes on the top of the order. Behind the leading trio, Jeffrey Schmidt finished fourth, ahead of Philipp Frommenwiller. Dennis Olsen, Matteo Cairoli, Ryan Cullen, Road Lindland and Zaid Ashkanani completed the top 10, in the field of 19 cars which finished the race.
