NASCAR Sprint Cup: First win for Martin Truex Jr. at Kansas Speedway

By winning the Go Bowling 400, Martin Truex Jr captured his ninth NASCAR Cup Series victory in a career and the first ever win at Kansas Speedway.

Truex led a race-high 104 of 267 laps to win at Kansas Speedway ahead of Brad Keselowski. They were followed by Kevin Harvick, polesitter Ryan Blaney and Kyle Busch. Series leader Kyle Larson finished sixth.

The race had 15 cautions. The biggest accident happened when Joey Logano and Danica Patrick collided during a battle for the 12th position. Patrick’s Ford hit hard into the outside wall and erupted in flames. A moment later, Aric Almirola’s #43 Ford barreled into the wreck. The race was stopped and Almirola was transferred to a hospital. He suffered a compression fracture to his T5 vertebra.
