F4 victories for Vesti, Zendeli at Hockenheim's F1 meeting

The ADAC F4 Championship served this weekend as a support programme to Formula One meeting at Hockenheimring. Two races took part at 4.574 km long circuit with Frederik Vesti (Van Amersfoort Racing) and Lirim Zendeli (US Racing) taking victories.

For the 16-year-old Danish driver Frederik Vesti, it was the first victory of the season while the 18-year-old German Lirim Zendeli triumphed for the seventh time to extend the championship lead.

Frederik Vesti claimed his first win in Saturday’s race

In the first race, on Saturday, Frederik Vesti started from pole and converted it into his first victory this year. He led from lights to flag and crossed the finish line 2.154 seconds ahead of teammate Liam Lawson. Championship leader Lirim Zendeli completed the podium. Twenty-five drivers participated in the race.

In the second race, Liam Lawson was on the pole but Lirim Zendeli dominated in the race, interrupted by two Safety Car periods, to take his seventh victory and to extend the championship lead with two more rounds on a calendar. Prema Theodore Racing duo of Oliver Caldwell and Enzo Fittipaldi joined Zendeli on the podium.

The next ADAC F4 meeting is scheduled for August 4-5 at Nurburgring.
