Martin Truex Jr wins at Sonoma Raceway for the second time

Martin Truex Jr. wins the Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway, the 16th round of the 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series. For the driver of the #78 Furniture Row Racing Toyota Camry, it’s his third win of the season and 18th Cup Series victory in a career. He previously won at Sonoma in 2013.

It was a pretty dominant victory for Truex, he crossed the finish line 10.513 seconds ahead of Kevin Harvick in the #4 Stewart-Haas Racing Ford Fusion. Harvick’s teammate Clint Bowyer was further 11.566 seconds down in the third place. Chase Elliott (Hendrick Motorsports) and Kyle Busch (Joe Gibbs Racing) completed the top 5.

The next race on the NASCAR Cup Series calendar is the Overton’s 400 at Chicagoland Speedway, scheduled for July 1.
