Larry ten Voorde (Overdrive Racing by Huber) made the perfect start in the 30th season of the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany at Hockenheimring by winning both races in the #13 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.

In both races, the 22-year-old Dutch driver took the checkered flag in front of Jaap Van Lagen (Förch Racing) and Jaxon Evans (Team Project 1 – JBR) but the results of the first race were affected with post-race penalties, so Henric Skoog (Overdrive Racing by Huber) and Berkay Besler (Car Collection Motorsport) inherited places on a podium.

Thirty drivers started in the first race of the 30th season, with Larry ten Voorde on the pole position. Without difficulties, he converted pole position into a victory. Two Safety car periods interrupted the race but that didn’t disturb young Dutchman. Ten Voorde shared a podium with Dutch veteran Jaap van Lagen and Porsche junior from New Zealand Jaxon Evans. However, they were later disqualified because their cars did not comply with the technical regulations.

After the second race, the same three drivers occupied the podium. This time, there were no penalties and changes among the front-runners. After the season-opening weekend, ten Voorde leads the championship with a maximum of 50 points. Henric Skoog follows with 27 points, Berkay Besler is third with 25 points. Besler is also the best rookie.  Stefan Rehkopf leads the Amateur drivers’ classification after two wins.

The next round of the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany is scheduled for May 17-19 at the Autodrom Most, as a support programme to the ADAC GT Masters.
