Hutasoit wins Ferrari Challenge APAC race 2 at Suzuka

Renaldi Hutasoit from Indonesia is the winner of Ferrari Challenge Asia-Pacific race 2 held on Sunday at wet Suzuka circuit.

Trofeo Pirelli

The Indonesian driver had pole position and managed to win the race after interesting battle Saturday’s Trofeo Pirelli class race winner Florian Merckx. The safety car entered the track on lap 10 after an accident. Merckx was in charge in that moment, but he was penalized because he passed back marker whilst the race was under the yellow flag and dropped to third. Reigning champion Steve Wyatt finished third.

Trofeo Pirelli AM

The American rookie Jamie Weiland scored his second win in a row. He started first in his class, had a lead through the whole race and finally scored another victory. Eric Cheung from Canada was second and Xin Jin from China third.

Coppa Shell

Liang Weng from China led through the whole Coppa Shell class race and clinched a victory, beating Japanese Makoto Fujiwara who was very close to the winner. Australian rookie Grant Baker finished third in this class.

The next round of the Asia Pacific Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli 2016 will take place in Abu Dhabi from April 14 – 16.
