Matt Kenseth wins crash filled race at the Monster Mile

Matt Kenseth wins NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race AAA 400 Drive for Autism at Dover International Speedway. In the crash filled race, which lasted more than four hours, Kenseth crossed the finish line at the Monster Mile as the winner for third time in his career.

Kyle Larson fought for the win until the last feets but he had to wait for his maiden Sprint Cup. Chase Elliott was close to leading duo, even in the contention for attacking them, but he was satisfied with the third place at the end.

In the crashes which caused twelve caution periods twenty-seven car were involved. Of 40 cars which started the race just 26 during crossed the finish line. Kasey Kahne grabs fourth place from Kurt Busch few laps before the chequered flag.

Brad Keselowski ran sixth, with Denny Hamlin behind his back. Ryan Blaney, Martin Truex Jr. and Trevor Bayne completed the top 10. Kevin Harvick, who started from pole and led for most of the race (117 of 400 laps), finished 15th with one lap less than the winner.

The second Dash 4 Cash victory for Erik Jones

Two other winners at the Monster Mile this weekend were Erik Jones and Matt Crafton. Jones has won Saturday’s Xfinity Series race while Crafton triumphed in the Friday’s Camping World Truck Series race.

Jones won in the Ollie’s Bargain Outlet 200 race after he led for most of the race (76 of 120 laps). The victory was Jones’s second of the season. He has now won two of the three NASCAR Xfinity Series races held under the new Dash 4 Cash format, which features two Heat races and a main event. He earned $100,000 for each win.

At Dover International Speedway Jones crossed the finish line 1.434 seconds ahead of Darrell Wallace Jr., who scored his best ever Xfinity Series result. Alex Bowman, who returned to the stock car racing after seven months, finished third after leading 33 laps. Justin Allgaier ran fourth, followed by Ty Dillon and Elliott Sadler. Sadler is in the Xfinity Series lead with three points advantage over Daniel Suarez, who finished ninth at the Monster Mile.

Matt Crafton finally in the Victory Lane at Dover

Crafton’s first win at Dover

In the Friday’s Jacob Companies 200 Matt Crafton finally got his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series victory at Dover International Speedway, after 16 attempts. The two-time Truck Series champion picked up his first win in 2016 and the 12th of his career.

After leading for 76 of 200 laps, Crafton won ahead of Daniel Suarez, for whome this was the career best result in the Truck Series. Christopher Bell came to the finish third, followed by Johnny Sauter and Cole Custer. Pole-sitter William Byron, last week’s winner at Kansas, led a race-high 80 laps but dropped to 11th at the finish. With Dover’s victory Crafton took over the Truck Series lead by two points over Timothy Peters, who finished 14t.
