Porsche Supercup: 1-2-3 finish for Walter Lechner Racing at the start of the season

  • 2017 Porsche Supercup

The Walter Lechner Racing team had a perfect start of the 2017 Porsche Supercup after Michael Ammermuller won the race while Daniel Cammish and Dennis Olsen completed the podium.

A rookie in the series Matt Campbell won the pole position but started awfully and dropped to the 6th place. The experienced Michael Ammermuller took the lead followed by his teammate Daniel Cammish and another rookie Dennis Olsen.

The safety car was deployed early in the race but when the race was restarted, nothing has changed on the top of the grid. Ammermuller’s lead was comfortable but Olsen tried to take P2 from Cammish while Robert Lukas was behind them waiting for his chance. Finally, on lap 12 Olsen overtook Cammish who defended well against Lukas in the last two laps.
