Citroen is the last of four manufacturers to unveil its World Rally Car prepared for the 2017 World Rally Championship. The Citroen C3 WRC is unveiled today in Abu Dhabi, as the United Arab Emirates capital reconfirmed its title sponsorship for Citroen’s team.

The first prototype of the 2017-spec car, which features 1.6-litre turbo engine with 380 hp, hit the road in April. Since then, the car have completed more than 9500 kilometers of testing, driven by Citroen’s WRC drivers. Now, the car is ready to compete against Toyota Yaris, Ford Fiesta and Hyundai i20 Coupe, the new generation World Rally Cars which remind us to the unforgettable Group B period.

Team principal Yves Matton confirmed that Kris Meeke will lead the drivers line-up. His teammates would be Craig Breen, Stephane Lefebvre and Khalid Al Qassimi. Citroen will enter two to four cars in selected events. Two cars will have the competitive debut at 85th Rallye Monte-Carlo (January 18-22, 2017).
