  • Ferrari Challenge final ceremony

Erich Prinoth and Matteo Santoponte ‘Babalus’ are the new Ferrari Challenge World champions after winning ultimate races of the season in front of nearly 50.000 spectators.

Prinoth won the title in the Coppa Shell class winning final race in Mugello. In the action packed race full of accidents, Italian veteran was calm enough to avoid all troubles and to win championship laurels.

Kessel Racing pair Gautam Singhania and Jacques Duyver were the favorites, but they were out of the battle for the title in early stage, after collision with Thomas Loefflad. Two more veterans claimed podium places as Fons Scheltema finished second and Rick Lovat third.

In the Trofeo Pirelli class, Matteo Santoponte ‘Babalus’ from Scuderia Autoropa justifed the role of favorite. In very close race, he was just 0.750s faster than Bjorn Grosmann (Octane 126) , while third was Max Blancardi, also driver of Octane 126 racing team.
