We’re 18 races deep into NASCAR, and it’s about to head up in Chicago as the Grant Park 220 is scheduled for this weekend, July 2nd, 2023, in Illinois.

NASCAR touches down at the Chicago Street Course, which stretches 2.2 miles and presents a multitude of wild turns. With 220 miles and 100 laps to create burning rubber, we expect anarchy to ensue with a testing track like this one.

The weekend’s event follows last week’s Ally 400, in which Ross Chastain broke a long-standing drought of 42 winless races as he fought Martin Truex Jr. to the chequered flag. It was the formidable Denny Hamlin as this third man to finish.

We’ve compiled a list of the latest NASCAR Cup series odds for the Grant Park 220 below (win, podium, top-five). We’ll then provide you with some of our predictions as we look to analyze a potential winner for this Sunday’s NASCAR event.

Chase Elliott is the expected winner as the bookmaker’s +500 favorite, and the likes of Martin Truex Jr. and Tyler Reddick aren’t far behind. That said, the odds board’s first eight drivers are +1200 or less. However, the most interesting prices are those beyond Ross Chastain’s +1200 because there’s a handful of names with the potential to win this race. What’s more intriguing is that a BetMGM bonus code can boost your returns even further, thus giving bettors the potential for an incredibly lucrative weekend.

Betting on a Debut Road Course

With any debut course, we’re dealing with a lot of unknowns, which is why it’s advisable to take a chance on some of the outsider betting odds. The likes of Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson have both won four events on road courses since 2020, which is why they’re topping the odds alongside Martin Truex Jr. and Tyler Reddick, who’re positioned high on the betting market strictly for their talents.

Track experience becomes irrelevant due to the unknowns presented with a debut course. Making predictions on a course that will witness over thirty cars at full throttle isn’t for the faint-hearted, so it makes sense to pay attention to Saturday’s qualifier to see how each driver runs.

The initial practice session starts at 1:30 pm ET. The qualifying race begins at 2:30 pm. Naturally, the tempo will be upped on Sunday due to the forecasted rain expected for Saturday. It’s hinted that these conditions will favor Toyota on this style of track, but will it match their setup? If so, Reddick and Truex Jr. could be your best bet.

Betting Picks for NASCAR Grant Park 220

Tyler Reddick will be hunting for an equal amount as Larson and Elliott since covid-19, and Chase Elliott will be challenging for a fourth road race success on a debut course. However, Tyler Reddick could be the best bet at +650 with the Toyota-favored course and conditions.

Best Bet: Riddick to Win [+650]

Chase Elliott Podium Finish [+140]

Denny Hamlin Top Five Finish [+400]
