Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick, Martin Truex Jr. or Kyle Busch. One of those four drivers would be the 2019 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series champion.

Hamlin’s victory at ISM Raceway last weekend closed the Round of 8 in the Playoffs, determining four title candidates that will fight for the crown in the Championship 4 round, the Ford EcoBoost 400 race at Homestead-Miami Speedway on Sunday, November 17.

Three of four title contenders are driving Toyota Camrys for Joe Gibbs Racing (#11 Hamlin, #19 Truex, #18 Busch) while Kevin Harvick sits in the #4 Ford Mustang of Stewart-Haas Racing.

Martin Truex Jr. has the best score in 2019 with seven victories, Hamlin has won six times while Harvick and Busch triumphed four times each.

When looking career results, Denny Hamlin is only of four title contenders without championship trophy in his hands. Kevin Harvick was Cup Series champion in 2014, Kyle Busch was a champion a year later while Martin Truex Jr. triumphed in 2017.

It’s interesting that Harvick, Truex and Busch are in the Championship 4 round for the third year in a row. Last year, they lost a battle against Joey Logano. In 2017, the fourth contender was Brad Keselowski but Truex won the title.
