Super GT Japan: James Rossiter and Daisuke Ito wins Suzuka 1000

James Rossiter and Daisuke Ito are the winners of Suzuka 1000, 5th round of Autobacs Super GT Series and the biggest race of the season. After almost six hours of racing at famous Suzuka Circuit Rossiter and Ito made 163 laps driving #36 Petronas Tom’s Lexus RC F and won with a comfortable margin of one minute and half ahead of second and third placed team. Yuji Tachikawa and Hiroaki Ishiura in #38 Zent Cerumo Lexus RC F were second, while Hironobu Yasuda and Joao Paulo Lima de Oliveira in #12 Calsonic Impul Nissan GT-R were third.

15 cars in GT500 class and 28 cars in GT300 class competed at Suzuka Circuit. Winners of GT300 category are Andre Couto, Katsumasa Chiyo and Ryuichiro Tomita in #10 Gainer Tanx Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3. They won with just one second advatnage over Jörg Müller and Seiji Ara in #7 Studie BMW Z4 GT3. Third placed are Takuto Iguchi and Hideki Yamauchi in #61 R&D Sport Subaru BRZ GT300 with 38 seconds behind the winning car.

GT500results

Despite third place in GT500 category at Suzuka, JPL de Oliveria and Hiro Yasuda remain in the lead in the championship standings. They both have 51 points, seven more than second placed pair Yuji Tachikawa and Hiroaki Ishiura. Winners of Suzuka 1000 Rossiter and Ito jumped to third place with 43 points on their accounts.

In GT300 class, Andre Couto is the leader with 69 points, 15 more than his teammate Katsumasa Chiyo. Their partner at Suzuka, Ryuichiro Tomita, jumped to third in the championship with 40 points, two more than Kazuki Hoshino and Mitsunori Takaboshi, who finshed Suzuka 1000 at 14th place.
