Super GT Japan: Raybrig's Honda NSX victorious at Sugo

Naoki Yamamoto and Takuya Izawa in #100 Raybrig’s Honda NSX Concept-GT are the winners of 6th round of Super GT Series at Sportsland Sugo. They achieved their first win with 2.689 seconds advantage ahead #46 Mola Nissan GT-R driven by Satoshi Motoyama and Masataka Yanagida. Daiki Sasaki and Michael Krumm in #24 Nissan GT-R scored third place.

15 cars in GT500 class competed at Sugo, with championship leaders Hironobu Yasuda and J.P.L. de Oliveira finishing at 11th place with #12 Impul Nissan GT-R, so they didn’t get any points. Race winners Yamamoto and Izawa jumped to second place in the champioship, with just two points less then the leaders.

VivacToyota

Winners of the GT300 class are Takeshi Tsuchiya and Takamitsu Matsui in #25 VivaC Toyota 86 MC. It’s also their first class win. They achieved a comfortable win with 16.89 seconds advantage ahead of Koki Saga and Yuichi Nakayama in #31 apr Toyota Prius. Katsuyuki Hiranaka and Bjorn Wirdheim drove #11 Gainer’s Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 to third place.

GT300 class leader Andre Couto in #10 Gainer Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 finished sixth, together with co-driver Ryuichiro Tomita, and extended his lead to 20 points ahead team-mate Katsumasa Chiyo. Chiyo didn’t compete at Sugo because of his commitments at Blancpain GT race at Nurburgring.

Next round of Super GT Series is scheduled for end of October at Autopolis in Kyushu.
