Tom Dillmann is the new Formula V8 3.5 Series champion! The French driver of AVF team won the final race of the season at Catalunya Circuit and achieved the biggest success in his career so far.

Louis Deletraz started from pole position and had an excellent chance to clinch the title as he was the championship leader before the race, while his rival in the championship battle Tom Dillmann started from the seventh place. However, right after the start Deletraz dropped to the 4th while Dillmann moved up to the 5th position. Matevos Isaakyan took the lead and had a small advantage to Roy Nissany and Pietro Fittipaldi.

The battle for the championship crown was in the centre of the attention. The situation became even more interesting after the mandatory pit-stop when Dillmann broke out in front of Deletraz with almost 30 minutes to go.
