The third and final day of the V8 Supercars Coates Hire Ipswich SuperSprint event was less busy than yesterday (day 2) and “only” hosted one qualifying session and main race which lasted for 65 laps.

After Ford’s Mark Winterbottom‘s domination during the qualifying sessions, the first two short races and Volvo’s Scott McLaughlin proving the Swedish brand’s potential, the audience was eager to see how the  weekend would end.

Dunlop Series - Race 2

During the qualifying, the blue Ford Falcons from Pepsi Max Crew team were again on top spots with Chaz Mostert winning the pole position and Winterbottom on second. The experienced Craig Lowndes was third and Jamie Whincup was fourth which is good result for him this season.

However, after the main race and an hour-and-a-half of racing, it resulted in almost identical overall standings of the drivers at the finish line. Chaz Mostert was first, Craig Lowndens second and Mark Winterbottom third. Whincup wasn’t the third but the fourth which is still a good result for him in a disappointing season so far.
