2015 Carrera Cup Germany – Lausitzring (qualifying)

The fourth and fifth race of 2015 Porsche Carrera Cup Germany will be held on this weekend, one race Saturday and one race Sunday. After the cold and hard Nurburgring race on the last round of the championship, the drivers are for easier track but still demanding and special. Their Porsche 991 GT3 Cup cars will have to prove itself not just in the curves and on the straights of the track, but on the banks of the oval also.

During the yesterday’s practice session, Phillip Eng had the best time, followed by Michael Ammermuller and Alex Riberas. However, the top 9 drivers all had times in 1:25 min range so the qualifying session is going to be intense. Fortunately, the weather is fine which will help driver achieve maximum from their cars.  After the 35 minutes long qualifying session here are the results:

Austrian driver Phillip Eng won the pole position for afternoon race with time better than on yesterday’s practice. Second is Robert Renauer and this is great success for him with young and perspective Jeffrey Schmitdt on third. Michael Ammermuller is on the fourth and Danish ace Nikki Thiim is on the fifth.
