Maiden Carrera Cup victory for Porsche junior Thomas Preining

Thomas Preining (Konrad Motorsport) scores his maiden victory since he became a member of the Porsche Junior programme today in the first race of the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland at Nürburgring. The Austrian driver, who will celebrate his 19th birthday next week, managed to beat polesitter Larry ten Voorde (Deutsche Post by Project 1).

The PCCD race is a part of the Porsche Motorsport Race Weekend at Nürburgring. The PCCD competitors are sharing the grid with Porsche Sports Cup contestants. Eleven PCCD drivers and twenty-six PSC drivers took part in the 30-minute race, with Jurgen Haring as the overall winner. Preining and Ten Voorde were second and third overall. Fifth overall and third in the PCCD standings was Henric Skoog (Huber Racing).

Most of PCCD front-runners, including five-time winner Dennis Olsen, are participating this weekend in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup race at Silverstone.
