Albert Costa brings the sensational maiden victory to Emil Frey Racing’s Lexus RC F GT3 at Circuit Paul Ricard 1000 km race, the third round of the 2018 Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup. Costa steals the victory from Bentley M-Sport’s Jules Gounon in the very last lap of the 1000-km race.

Costa’s co-drivers in the #14 Lexus were Christian Klien and Marco Seefried. Gounon was sharing the #7 Bentley Continental GT3 with Steven Kane and Jordan Pepper. The podium was completed by Come Ledogar, Ben Barnicoat and Andrew Watson, the trio in the #58 McLaren 650S GT3 of Garage 59 team.

The #58 McLaren crew led for most of the race before losing a lead after the final round of pitstops to #72 SMP Racing’s Ferrari. But, with 40 minutes on a clock, the #72 Ferrari lost a wheel and handed the lead to #7 Bentley. The #58 McLaren crew had to serve drive-through penalty because of the pitstop infringement but they still managed to finish third.
