Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup: Double Audi triumph at Brands Hatch

Belgian Audi Club Team WRT scored a double victory in the second round of the 2018 Blancpain GT Series Sprint Cup at Brands Hatch Circuit.

Dries Vanthoor and Will Stevens won the first race in the #2 Audi R8 LMS while the victory in the second race went to their teammates Frederic Vervisch and Stuart Leonard in the #17 Audi.

Audi celebrated two wins at Brands Hatch

Audi crews dominated in the race meeting at the iconic British circuit, taking five of possible six podium places. Alex Riberas and Christopher Mies finished in the second place in both races in the #1 Team WRT Audi. Attempto Racing’s Kelvin van der Linde and Steijn Schothorst were third in the second race in the #66 Audi.

The only non-Audi crew which climbed on a podium was the #88 crew of Akka ASP team. Raffaele Marciello and Michael Meadows finished third in the first race in the #88 Mercedes-AMG GT3.

Fred Vervisch and Stuart Leonard won the second race in the #17 Audi

The next Sprint Cup meeting is scheduled for June 23-24 at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. Before that event, the Endurance Cup will have meetings at Silverstone (May 18-20) and Circuit Paul Ricard (June 1-2).
