Engelhart, Bortolotti open the Blancpain GT season with a victory

The last year’s Blancpain GT Series overall champions and Endurance Cup winners, Mirko Bortolotti and Christian Engelhart, open the 2018 Blancpain GT season with a victory in the first race of the Sprint Cup at Circuit Zolder. A duo in the #63 GRT Grasser Racing Team Lamborghini Huracan GT3 takes the first win of the season ahead of four Audi crews.

Dries Vanthoor and Will Stevens finished second in the #2 Team WRT Audi R8 LMS, beating teammates in the #1 car Christopher Mies and Alex Riberas. Kelvin van der Linde and Steijn Schothorst finished fourth in the #66 Attempto Racing Audi, ahead of #17 Audi of last year’s Sprint Cup champions Robin Frijns and Stuart Leonard.

The top 10 are completed with #19 GRT Grasser Lamborghini Huracan, #3 Team WRT Audi R8 LMS, #88 Akka ASP Mercedes-AMG GT3, #87 Akka ASP Mercedes and #25 Sainteloc Audi.

Alessio Picariello and Gilles Magnus finished seventh overall and first in Silver Cup class. The winners of the Pro-Am class are Carlo Van Dam and Piti Bhirombhakdi in the #39 TP 12 – Kessel Racing Ferrari 488 GT3.
