Fantastic F3 weekend for Mick Schumacher at Nürburgring, three wins in three races
Mick Schumacher (Prema Theodore Racing) will remember the Formula 3 round at Nürburgring until the end of his career because he showed the absolute domination and triumphed in all three races of the weekend.
In the eighth round of the 2018 FIA Formula 3 European Championship, Mick Schumacher scored three wins to make a giant step towards the top of the championship standings, but Dan Ticktum is still the championship leader because he also earned plenty of points with two podium finishes during the weekend. He was third in Race 1 and Race 2, and fourth in Race 3.
In Race 1, Mick Schumacher shared a podium with pole-sitter Robert Shwartzman (Prema Theodore Racing) and Dan Ticktum (Motopark). It was Schumacher’s fourth win of the season. In Race 2, he started from pole position and converted it into his fifth win of the season, sharing a podium again with Shwartzman and Ticktum.
On Sunday afternoon, Schumacher triumphed for the third race in a row in the #4 Dallara-Mercedes, again starting from pole. This time, he was sharing a podium with Robert Shwartzman and Alex Palou.
After eight rounds and 24 races, Dan Ticktum leads the championship with 264 points, just three more than Mick Schumacher. The third-placed Marcus Armstrong is 44 points behind Ticktum. The next F3 Europe’s round is scheduled for September 22-23 at Red Bull Ring.
