Brett Moffitt is 2018 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series champion! The 26-year-old driver from Iowa won the season’s finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway in the #16 Toyota Tundra of Hattori Racing Enterprises, giving the team owned by Shigeaki Hattori the first ever NASCAR title.

In the final race of the season (Ford EcoBoost 200), Moffitt crossed the finish line two seconds ahead of Grant Enfinger. Prior to that, Moffitt was leading for 59 fo 134 laps, including the last 28 laps at the 1.5-mile oval track. It’s the sixth Truck Series win of the season for Moffitt and his seventh in a career.

It’s interesting that Moffitt won a title on the same track where team owner Shigeaki Hattori won as a driver 20 years ago competing in an Indy Lights Series race. The NASCAR title is the first ever for the popular Japanese owner and his team that has only 10 full-time employees, led by veteran crew chief Scott Zipadelli.
