The Austrian Thomas Preining (BWT Lechner Racing) ended his championship-winning season in the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany with two wins at Hockenheimring.

He collected ten victories in fourteen races in 2018, taking the championship title ahead of last year’s Porsche Supercup champion and his teammate Michael Ammermüller, who was second in both races of season’s finale. The Dutchman Larry ten Voorde finished third in the last race of the season and third in the championship.

Preining already secured championship title with Saturday’s win but he also wanted to give a maximum on Sunday, so he again started from pole and clinched one more victory. With ten wins in fourteen races, Preining equaled the record of current Porsche works driver Sven Müller, who secured the title in the German Porsche Carrera Cup in 2016.

Dylan Pereira finished fourth in the last race and the fourth in the championship, taking the Rookie title. The top spot in the amateur class went to Jörn Schmidt-Staade.
