Ghiotto, Latifi, Sette Camara occupied the Formula 2 podium at Bahrain

Luca Ghiotto (Virtuosi Racing), Nicholas Latifi and Sergio Sette Camara (both DAMS) occupied three spots on a podium after both FIA Formula 2 Championship races in the season-opening round at Bahrain International Circuit.

Latifi has won Saturday’s Feature Race, in front of Ghiotto and Sette Camara, taking his third F2 victory in a career. Then, on Sunday, Ghiotto was the winner of the Sprint Race, with Sette Camara second and Latifi third. That was the second F2 win for Ghiotto which put him on the top of the championship standings with 37 points, two more than Latifi and then more than Sette Camara.

The best of the rest after two races at Bahrain’s 5.4km circuit is Louis Deletraz (Carlin), who finished fifth in both races and now he’s fourth in the championship points. The fourth place in the Feature Race went to Anthoine Hubert (Arden) while fourth in the Sprint Race was Guanyu Zhou (Virtuosi Racing).

Formula 2 drivers will skip the next Grand Prix weekend in China and will return to race track at Baku City Circuit on April 26-28.
