Sergio Sette Camara (DAMS) and Luca Ghiotto (UNI-Virtuosi Racing) are the winners of two FIA Formula 2 Championship races at Abu Dhabi’s Yas Marina Circuit, in the last round of the 2019 season.

Nyck de Vries (ART Grand Prix) already secured the championship title in the previous round so there was only an intense battle for the runner-up spot in the championship, with three drivers having chances to take P2, including race winners Sette Camara and Ghiotto.

DAMS ended the season as the best team

Despite their victories, Nicholas Latifi (DAMS) ended the championship in second place after finishing seventh in Saturday’s Feature Race and second in Sunday’s Sprint Race. He collected 214 points, seven more than Ghiotto and ten more than Sette Camara. The new F2 champion Nyck de Vries scored no points in Abu Dhabi, finishing both races in 13th place.

The French team DAMS takes the championship title among teams, beating UNI-Virtuosi Racing and ART Grand Prix. The title is dedicated to the founder of the team Jean-Paul Driot, who passed away this year in August.

Three champions: Nyck de Vries (F2), Lewis Hamilton (F1) and Robert Shwartzman (F3)
