Blancpain Endurance Series Paul Ricard - qualifying

Interesting morning in France where on famous Paul Ricard track Blancpain Endurnace Series event is being held. First order of the day are three short qualifying sessions before the 6 hours and 1000 km long endurance race in the afternoon. The grid is massive with over 80 cars enlisted which could be problem like in Silverstone where similar number of cars caused problems with the traffic for all drivers. With 61 cars in the Blancpain Endurance Series and 22 in the brand-new GT Sports Club the grid is massive.

In first qualifying session, Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 was fastest with very good time of  1:57.519. The car was part of Nissan GT Racing Academy team. It was interesting to see Nissan at the top spot in endurance qualifying since the GT-R is more at home on shorter track and sprint events. But, on the other two qualifying session Lamborghini Huracan GT3 proved dominant just as it did yesterday on free practice and pre qualifying session.

The GTR Grasser Racing Team entered two brand new Huracans and on the second qualifying session car No19 driven by Andrew Palmer, Fabio Babini and Jeroen Mul had fastest time of 1:57.405 which was very fast. However, on third and final qualifying session, the second GTR Team Lamborghini, No63 driven by Giovanni Venturini, Adrian Zaugg and Mirko Bortolotti (yesterday’s hero) was even faster with 1:56.638 time and almost a full second better than other car’s time. This all shows that tonight’s race is going to be very interesting and dynamic.
